Terms of use
Effective October 21, 2026
These terms cover the FRCShaper Chrome extension, FRCShaper accounts and this website (together, "FRCShaper"). By using FRCShaper you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what data we keep.
Free to use
FRCShaper is free. We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering FRCShaper, at any time.
Check your CAD
FRCShaper inserts and mates parts for you, chooses lengths and sizes, and plans whole assemblies. It can get things wrong. You're responsible for checking your design before you order parts or build anything from it. Every run can be undone in Onshape.
Your account
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself and use one you don't use anywhere else.
- Pick a display name that's fine for other students and mentors to see.
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts, overload or attack the service, or get around its limits.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms. You can delete yours at any time from the extension's Settings.
Onshape and other services
FRCShaper works inside Onshape and inserts parts from FRCDesignLib and Onshape's standard content. Your use of Onshape is governed by Onshape's own terms, and those parts by their owners' terms. The calculator window shows reca.lc, a separate website. FRCShaper isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Onshape, PTC, FIRST®, FRCDesign.org or ReCalc. Their names belong to their owners.
No warranty
FRCShaper is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, the people who make FRCShaper aren't liable for any loss or damage from using it, including lost work, wrong parts or missed deadlines.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. Using FRCShaper after a change means you accept the new terms.
